Sunday, January 12, 2003:

I knitted up all of the Mosaico, and measured the scarf--I immediately forgot what the measurement was, but something like 37 inches, which would be fine for a short scarf to wear inside a coat, but too short for this one. I only bought one ball, because I didn't know how much I would need (or if I would like knitting with it), and also because they only had one in this color. I don't think dye lot will probably matter, but if it does, I'll just make it twice as long and the change will be at the back of the neck.

I'll either have to drive back out to the Yarn Barn--about 45 minutes away, and not open in the evenings, so it'll have to be next weekend--or order it online. Either way, I won't be finishing this one this week, so I put it away and got the charcoal wool seaman's scarf out again. It feels very drab and plodding after knitting with the Mosaico, which felt like a party!
