I finished the first Fortissima sock last night. I grafted the toe--well, actually I did it twice, since Dinah got in my way the first time, wanted to chew on the yarn, and I lost my place and had to pick it out and start over. I had been obsessing over the length, not wanting it to be too long, and the sock fit perfectly, but maybe too perfectly. No ease, really, at all.
So I worried about it, even going so far as to wake up in the night worrying about it, and this morning I picked out the grafting stitches and ripped it out down past the toe decreases, and put the stitches back on the needles and am going to knit another inch or so on the foot.
I'm going to have to add more yarn, since of course I had already cut the yarn off, and I'm not crazy about that, but I'd rather do that than have a sock I won't wear because it's too small. And I don't know if it might even shrink a little, since I haven't ever washed any yet.
Ah well. One of these times I'll get it right. It's a beautiful sock, though!
