Saturday, June 07, 2003:

The yarn for the felted tote bag arrived yesterday, so I went ahead and joined the Suki Knit-Along. An artist friend told me my colors are fine, but I'm still not sure. I decided not to use the natural, just the three other colors.

I cast on last night and knit quite a bit, until my neck started hurting, I assume from the different motion associated with knitting with huge needles as opposed to the tiny ones I've been using for socks.

Too bad it looks so ugly while it's being knitted; definitely something you don't want to knit in public! I have no idea if it's going to look presentable once it's felted, but I have faith!

I had to go buy Size 11 double points today, and of course while I was at the yarn store, I bought more yarn: a big hank of dip-dyed wool that I plan to make into another felted bag (assuming, of course, that the current one works out), and three balls of Adriafil Ibiza cotton tape from the clearance table. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but it was on sale, and I can never resist a sale . . .
