Monday, July 07, 2003:

We ended up waiting around the house on Monday morning for something to happen with regard to Bob's business before we could leave on vacation, so I started the angora hot water bottle cover. What a complete pain! I think the circular needle that was specified in the pattern was too small (the cable, not the needle size), because it was a constant struggle to move the stitches. And cables with angora--what is the point? They're flat and hardly noticable, so why bother? I went looking for the pattern to link to, but Knitpicks has apparently pulled most of their free patterns, which in this case is just as well, I guess, although I did buy four skeins of Lush angora in a particularly ugly shade (the one that was on sale), so I guess I'll have to find something else to do with them. Maybe a scarf. But no cables!

And the free pattern thing is another reminder to PRINT any pattern you find on the web and might want to make in the future, because there's no guarantee that it will be around when you decide to try it.
