Thursday, August 21, 2003:

I didn't know that elann.com sold needles, too! I was wasting time there the other day, and they didn't have any yarn I couldn't live without, and, seemingly, since I had to spend some money, I clicked on the "needles and hooks" link. I clicked on the Brittany Birch single points, and though, hm, what sizes don't I have?

I keep a list on my PDA (using Knitable), and saw that I didn't have any size 9 birch needles, and I had some 10-1/2 bamboo needles, but no birch ones, and oh, wait. 10-7/8?? (7.5 mm) 10-3/4?? (7.0 mm)

I've always thought the large difference between US 10-1/2 and US 11 was weird (6.5 mm vs. 8.0 mm), but I never even knew there was anything in between. So, no, I didn't need new needles, but I couldn't resist. Just like when I saw 1-1/2 Brittany doublepoints. Who could resist? Not me, apparently.
