I felted the second Suki bag today. I had thought I had followed the pattern for the first one, but obviously not--I apparently followed the "if you don't want to use this much yarn, only make three stripes of each color" instructions. This time I followed the actual pattern, and made four stripes of each secondary color, and the resulting bag is considerably bigger. (Still blocking on two popcorn tins from last year, pictures anon.)
A couple of weeks ago or so I ordered some special offer Beatrice from KnitPicks, just to try it and to round out an order, i.e., get it up above $30 so I could get free shipping.
It's a little heavier yarn than I normally like to knit with, but it was a pretty color, so I just stuck it in the stash. This morning I had the bright idea to try it on some big (Size 11) needles, and I cruised through half of a garter stitch scarf for one of my nieces. I knit through the two balls I had, then ordered more, plus enough to make something else, maybe a hot water bottle sweater? I really want to make one of those . . .
