Friday, January 16, 2004:

I've been posting over at the journal, but I guess I should say something here, too. I'm doing fine. Surgery was Monday morning, and I was home mid-afternoon on Tuesday. There were no complications, but I got sick (predictably) from either the anesthesia or the morphine, which was miserable. But by Tuesday morning I was feeling well enough that the doctor said if I could eat a "normal" breakfast (in his words, meaning something I had to chew), I could go home.

I spent the time waiting for my lunch knitting. I did decide to take the sock I was working on; on Monday afternoon and evening I was thinking that I had been nuts to even think that I might want to knit something, or read something, but by Tuesday I was feeling a LOT better.

The day nurse on Tuesday was fascinated by the sock--she said she crocheted, but didn't knit. I told her it was too bad I wasn't staying longer, or I would teach her . . .

Today I've been working on a Lily Bag. Pictures soon. I think I may have chosen the absolute weirdest Kureyon colorway in existence.
