I'm really enjoying knitting the Instant Ponch with Nature Cotton, although I suspect I'm knitting looser than I should be. Cotton is hard to get used to after knitting with wool--I keep using the word "forgiving," but that's the only thing I can come up with. Wool sort of fills in the gaps for you a little bit. Cotton just doesn't stretch at all. And I guess it also comes down to the fact that I'm not willing to struggle with it on smaller needles, or try to get a perfect tension, particularly since it's a thick-and-thin yarn.
It will be what it will be. That's sort of the reason I was so pleased to see the poncho pattern--I think I can be a lot happier with a possibly imperfect poncho than I would be with a sweater. After all, it's just basically a blanket with a hole for my head, right?
In any event, I'm sure it will turn out soft and snuggly and be just fine, if not as even as Amy's appears to be.
I didn't knit at all on it last night, and I left it at home today, because my shoulder is hurting, and I'm pretty sure it's my old knitting injury. I wonder how long I would have to stop knitting to get it to go away completely? I'll probably never know.
