I'm getting into the tarot again, going through an online course, and as I was reading The Fool's Journey this morning, something made me remember the knitting tarot.

I've actually been thinking about creating a tarot deck of my own, using symbolism that's important to me--I think it would help me learn it--and it sounds like a good, if possibly life-long--project. Knitting might enter into it. :)

Oooooooh, a knitting tarot deck! That could be really cool. The knitter should at least be a character in the deck.

I have a tarot story, don't let it discourage you in anyway. It is just my only tarot story. I was doing tarot readings at a work function once and one guy I worked with seemed so bothered by my reading he kept coming back to me to ask questions and talk about it. It finally started to give me the creeps and I dodged him for quite a while.

About 3 years later he stabbed a woman to death and hid the murder weapon at work. He is up for the death penalty now.

Oh my gosh! How awful. That's a pretty dramatic story. I'd settle for advice on whether to knit a cardigan or a tank top next. :) I think Tarot is pretty interesting, but I've just never delved into it very much. I just bought a very cool new deck, though--the Leonardo da Vinci Tarot--and it's spurring me to learn about it. Thanks for sharing your story. Too weird!
