Tuesday, August 09, 2005:

(I walk into Dave's office wearing the sweater I'm knitting on one shoulder, trailing a ball of yarn behind me.) (Okay, I forgot that it was still attached to the ball, I was just excited to be trying it on.)

Me: "See what I'm knitting??"

Dave: "What is that, a sweater?"

Me: "Yup."

Dave: "They have those in stores, you know." (Yes, and probably cheaper.) "Do you need some money?"

Willa, I think that sometimes people who don't knit, don't get it. For me, alot of times it's not always really the completed project, but the knitting itself that I enjoy. I always love to have a lovely finished project, but I think I use knitting more just for the calmness of it, and the therapeutic benefits. Having a beautiful, colorful sweater or scarf or shawl emerge from it, just puts icing on the cake!

I can't wait to see your finished sweater.
