Monday, February 13, 2006:

I just got back from a week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I took a half-finished sock (Opal Inspiration):

I worked on it while we were there:

And finished it that same day, in spite of the drinking and the sun. I started a new one (Opal Rodeo):

I was kind of proud of myself for not getting overly optimistic about the amount of knitting I would get done. I figured I would be doing good if I finished one pair of socks; I did take an extra ball of Opal, and ended up starting a new pair rather than knitting the second sock of the first pair.

One day I spent the whole day reading (Stephen King's Cell), and didn't knit at all, but most days I knit in the morning for a couple of hours, then played cards in the afternoon. It was a wonderful week, so relaxing.

I love the color of the new sock. Very cute!!

I love the sock! I think I'm going to shop for some sock yarn, so I can knit some! :)
