I followed a link from knitmeister to Astrid's Dutch Obsessions, a knitting shop in the Netherlands, and ended up buying a couple of balls of sock yarn--both of them 100 gram balls, and one (Fortissima Mexico Tequila) was only $6.50 and the other (Gedifra) was $8.95!

And shipping wasn't bad at all--just $7.50--so two balls (two pairs of socks) ended up costing just over $20. I had actually put quite a bit more than that in my shopping cart, but I culled it down to just those two. I can always order more later. Of course, there's no question that I have enough sock yarn to last me the rest of my life right now, but at prices like that, who could resist?

I almost bought some of the Opal Hundertwasser, but although I'm a huge fan of colorful, crazy socks, this was just a bit too crazy, even for me. Still, I might order some later . . .
