You thought I was kidding about having enough sock yarn to last the rest of my life, didn't you? Although, if I got busy, I could probably have it all knit up in a couple of years, and then I'd have a pair of socks for every week in the year. Of course, that assumes that I don't buy any more . . .

Thank you!

The heel is difficult the first time, but you just have to follow a pattern and try not to think about it too much, I think. Through trial and error I've come up with my own pattern that fits my feet, but there are several good links on the sidebar on my Socks page. I also have several sock knitting books -- I make a "round heel" that I found in "Knitting on the Road," which is a good all-purpose sock knitting book, I think.

I don't do any fancy patterns, I let the yarns do that for me. :)

The first sock I tried was a Christmas stocking on larger needles; once I figured out that all socks were pretty much the same, I moved on to the tiny needles and finer yarn. I love sock knitting!
